DATONE Clinic in Cheongdam, Seoul, announced on the 25th that it had introduced ExoSmart, a blood-processing medical device, to strengthen its regenerative medicine programs based on patients’ own blood.

ExoSmart is classified as a Class III blood-processing medical device in South Korea. It is used to prepare concentrated platelets from a patient’s own blood through a process involving centrifugation and filtration. The device uses hollow-fiber membrane ultrafiltration to process blood components.

With the introduction of ExoSmart, DATONE Clinic plans to expand its autologous blood-based programs and gradually develop the infrastructure for future stem cell-based and other cell-based regenerative medicine programs.

The clinic plans to design programs around each patient’s age, skin condition and pace of recovery, while continuing to refine its equipment and clinical protocols.

“I see the field of anti-aging evolving beyond visible improvements to also consider how tissues and cells age, and the conditions that support recovery,” said Dr. Yeorim Ahn, Medical Director of DATONE Clinic. “Starting with programs that use patients’ own blood, we plan to develop the clinical infrastructure for stem cell-based approaches and advanced regenerative medicine.”
