ALASTIN Developer Dr. Alan Widgerow Visits DATONE CLINIC in Cheongdam to Celebrate Its Protocol Center Designation

DATONE CLINIC announced that Dr. Alan Widgerow visited the clinic on September 5 during his trip to Korea for ALASTIN’s launch activities. According to the clinic, DATONE was the only medical institution in Korea he visited during this trip. The visit included a discussion of personalized care before and after procedures, as well as a celebration of DATONE CLINIC’s designation as an ALASTIN Protocol Center.
Dr. Widgerow is Galderma’s Chief Scientific Officer and Head of ALASTIN Innovation, leading the brand’s scientific research and product development. He spent 20 years practicing plastic surgery in South Africa and has conducted tissue engineering research at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine), bringing clinical practice and skin science together in his work.
ALASTIN is a premium American skin care brand from Galderma, a company specializing in dermatology. Built around its patented peptide complex, TriHex Technology®, the brand offers products for skin care before and after procedures, as well as daily hydration and care for skin firmness and texture. Its products include Restorative Skin Complex and INhance serum, which is used to help care for skin that feels sensitive after external stress and to support a smoother-looking texture.
Dr. Yeorim Ahn, Medical Director of DATONE CLINIC, studied biological sciences at KAIST and medicine at Ewha Womans University. Drawing on this background, she has examined both the scientific basis of products and how they may be used in clinical practice. During the visit, Dr. Ahn introduced DATONE’s approach to care and shared why the clinic chose ALASTIN, which is based on TriHex Technology®, and how it incorporates the products into care before and after procedures.
The two also discussed skin care following energy-based procedures, including MOXI, POTENZA and Thermage, as well as injectable treatments. A key topic was how to connect procedures with recovery care while taking into account redness, swelling, bruising and downtime that may vary by treatment and individual skin condition.
Dr. Ahn serves as an ALASTIN Korea Faculty member and participates in the development of ALASTIN protocols for Korea. Drawing on her clinical experience, she shares approaches to product use that consider the local practice setting and each patient’s skin condition, including care after treatment.
Dr. Ahn previously presented clinical cases involving ALASTIN at GAIN KOREA 2026, hosted by Galderma Korea. At the event, medical professionals shared their experiences with personalized skin care before and after procedures, and Dr. Ahn contributed a case presentation.
Her presentation included cases in which ALASTIN INhance serum was incorporated into downtime care for bruising and swelling after skin booster treatments such as Restylane Vital Light and Rejuran. During Dr. Widgerow’s visit, they drew on these experiences to discuss assessing the skin after skin booster and other injectable procedures and providing appropriate follow-up care.
The visit concluded with a ceremony celebrating DATONE CLINIC’s designation as an ALASTIN Protocol Center. Through its faculty work, participation in protocol development and academic presentations, the clinic has developed an approach that connects preparation before a procedure, skin care afterward and at-home care.
A distinguishing aspect of DATONE CLINIC is its one-on-one consultation with the medical director, which considers each person’s skin condition, treatment history, sensitivity and daily schedule. For skin booster consultations involving products such as Rejuran and Restylane Vital Light, the clinic plans care from product and treatment-method selection through follow-up assessment of the skin. The same principle applies to energy-based procedures such as MOXI, POTENZA and Thermage.
“Studying biological sciences and medicine gave me a foundation for examining the scientific basis of products and considering how to apply them to each patient’s skin condition,” Dr. Ahn said. “This discussion was an opportunity to share DATONE’s approach to planning treatment and recovery care as one continuous process.
