MZ FIT Lifting Tailored to Facial Structure and Skin Condition: What to Know Before Treatment

As life expectancy increases and self-care becomes a greater priority, growing interest in anti-aging is reshaping the approach to lifting treatments. Treatment planning increasingly involves a detailed assessment of each person’s facial structure and skin condition, extending beyond simply tightening the skin. Even when the same lifting device is used, the appropriate energy settings and treatment depth can vary depending on skin thickness, fat distribution, the degree of sagging and the tissue characteristics of each area.
In particular, a “custom fitting” approach has been gaining attention. This involves dividing the face into individual treatment zones and developing a plan that reflects the skin structure and aging patterns of each zone, rather than delivering energy uniformly across the entire face.
MZ FIT is a program that applies this personalized approach to lifting. Based on an anatomical assessment, the face and body are divided into multiple zones, with energy settings and treatment techniques selected according to the characteristics of each area. MZ FIT Face addresses facial concerns, while MZ FIT Body targets concerns in specific areas of the body.
For example, fat accumulation and sagging of the skin and underlying tissues often occur together along the jawline and beneath the chin, so energy delivery needs to take deeper tissue layers into account. In the cheeks, however, excessive fat reduction can lead to unwanted volume loss, making an approach that considers skin firmness and collagen regeneration particularly important.
The core of personalized lifting is to distinguish between areas with excess fat, areas lacking volume and areas with pronounced skin laxity, and to apply a different strategy to each.
The MZ FIT Master Protocol also uses two types of handpieces, Micro and Deep, according to treatment depth. The Micro handpiece is designed to act at a depth of approximately 2–3 mm, while the Deep handpiece is designed for approximately 7–8 mm, allowing treatment planning to account for both superficial and deeper tissue layers.
Before treatment, each patient’s skin thickness, subcutaneous fat distribution and degree of firmness loss are assessed to guide adjustments to energy intensity and treatment coverage. Even within the same anatomical area, the appropriate energy level can vary depending on skin condition. A detailed treatment plan based on a preliminary assessment is therefore important.
The same tailored approach applies to body treatments. Areas with localized fat deposits or reduced skin firmness, such as the upper arms and flanks, commonly known as love handles, are assessed individually. This approach considers not only fat reduction but also skin firmness and the overall balance of body contours.
Lifting outcomes can be influenced by the practitioner’s understanding of anatomy and assessment of the skin and subcutaneous tissues, as well as by the type of energy and device used. Before treatment, facial skeletal structure, fat distribution and skin condition should therefore be evaluated together to determine the appropriate treatment area and intensity for each individual.
