DATONE Clinic Introduces EMFACE for Skin Firmness and Facial Muscle Support

DATONE Clinic in Cheongdam, Seoul, announced plans to introduce EMFACE, a noninvasive facial lifting device, alongside its opening on August 3.
The clinic’s planned lifting program considers both skin firmness and the condition of the muscles that support facial expression and contours.
EMFACE delivers synchronized radiofrequency (RF) energy to the skin and underlying supporting tissues. At the same time, HIFES technology uses electrical stimulation to produce repeated contractions in targeted facial muscles.
RF energy delivers controlled heat to tissue to encourage collagen and elastin remodeling. HIFES stimulates motor nerves, creating rhythmic contractions in the lifting muscles of the forehead and cheeks. This combined approach addresses both skin quality and the muscular support involved in facial expression and contour.
“Treatment uses dedicated applicators placed on the forehead and both cheeks,” explained Dr. Yeorim Ahn, Medical Director of DATONE Clinic. “A session typically takes around 20 minutes and is performed without injections or anesthesia. Patients usually feel warmth alongside rhythmic facial muscle contractions. No numbing cream is needed, and the treatment generally does not require an extended recovery period, making it an option for those concerned about discomfort and downtime.”
“Some patients may notice a temporary tightening sensation immediately after treatment,” she continued. “Over time, skin remodeling and muscle adaptation may lead to gradual changes in brow and cheek position, facial contours and overall facial expression.”
“However, EMFACE serves a different purpose from treatments designed to replace lost volume or immediately correct deep wrinkles,” Dr. Ahn noted. “For patients with substantial facial fat, pronounced muscle asymmetry or a history of Botox or dermal filler treatments, both facial anatomy and previous procedures need to be carefully assessed.”
“Facial aging involves more than a single layer of skin. It is a process in which changes in the skin, fat, ligaments and muscles influence one another,” she added. “We felt EMFACE aligned well with our clinical philosophy because it aims to help restore the face’s natural lift and balance while respecting each person’s own expression.”
